My business partner and I own several properties in Bullet Tree Falls, near San Ignacio, and Hector has sold three of them. Not only found the buyer, but also managed the closing process successfully, which can be tricky in Belize, especially since we usually are in the US. I can’t say enough good things about Gwido and Grupo Mar Real Estate. My family and I were looking for a property in the San Ignacio area and had been to Belize one time before, traveling from Texas. The second time we came to Belize to look at property we found Gwido. He patiently showed us numerous properties with an easy-going nature that made our short available time very pleasant. We still did not find what we were looking for on that go round, but Gwido called us a few weeks before the Covid shut down and said he had found a property we might be interested in, even going out of his way to drive to Ontario Village and shoot some video for us. We hurried to Belize and bought the property that week with Gwido’s help and guidance, again., a seemless and pleasant experience. Recently, when taxes were due, Gwido contacted us to ask if we wanted him to pay them for us and we could wire him the money. I just thought they would bill us, which is not the way it is done in Belize. Gwido even helped us find someone to upkeep the property until we can get down there to do it ourselves. So many things could have gone wrong that didn’t thanks to Gwido’s professional and kind nature.

We were vacationing in Caye Caulker, Belize and decided to venture out to San Ignacio. We drove around and fell in love. My mother was with us, she spoke about retiring and thought that this may be a place to consider. We decided to go back the next month and was referred to Hector. My husband and I desired to purchase land in Belize and were introduced to Gwido via email by his brother while visiting the country in January. Little did we know that we were about to embark upon an amazing journey of exceptional service. Unfortunately, we were there for only a short time during that trip and couldn’t meet in person. However, shortly after we returned home, Gwido began diligently emailing us properties that fit the specifications we conveyed to him. When we returned in April, we met him and Kelly at the realty office and discussed the properties we would visit. And while at the office, they were the perfect hosts providing coffee and snacks.

Well, to start winding this story down, Gwido found the perfect riverfront property filled with fruit trees within a month of the previous deal falling through. He thoughtfully met the realtor that listed the property and provided extensive recordings of the property and the structures on it. Gwido had gained our trust so much since we met him that we listened to his expert advice on the proper offer to make once again, and via telephone and emails we completed purchase of the property. We didn’t arrive in Belize to personally walk the property until approximately two weeks after closing. Furthermore, on our request, he graciously checked into the requirements needed to get certain utilities turned on before we arrived.

I will end our story here simply because I have written quite a bit already, but there are so many more positive things I could share about both Gwido and Kelly. You absolutely want to do business with Grupo Mar to ensure professionals whom can be trusted are taking care of the important investment you are about to make. They are a well rounded package, possessing extensive real estate knowledge and negotiation skills, as well as in depth knowledge of the country and its vegetation and wildlife.
